Clarion Hotel® The Hub

This is a bit of a mixed review, as The Hub has a lot going for it, but some serious shortcomings as well. Location: Couldn't be better! Within a few steps of the front door are bus, tram, and metro stations. Oslo central station is just 100 metres away. Reception: This is a large hotel and the reception area was very busy. The staff were friendly and helpful, with check-in handled very efficiently. Public areas: There are a number of bars etc within this hotel - one located on the 13th floor, not far from our room. Music was audible until quite late. Breakfast: Probably the best we have ever experienced! The breakfast room is very large, as is the selection of food and drinks. Every taste is catered for and the quality is excellent. The room: This is where the Hub falls down, and badly. Our room would have been large enough if it was well designed, but the design was very poor. The room was dominated by a very large flat-screen TV positioned to make it very difficult to get to the bed. There were no bedside tables (absolutely essential for the many people who use a CPAP machine). There was little to no storage space (room to hang three shirts) and the bathroom was likewise too small and poorly laid out. Finally the balcony garden was nothing but a weed patch. Staff: The staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful. Overall: It could have been so much better.

Arron was an amazing bartender that took care of me and my mates all night. Drinks were made well, fast and with care. The stay at the clarion was seamless. Thanks to the service of the staff. Will definitely be returning because of this reason. All the way from Aus.

We were so disappointed to have to check out this morning after such a wonderful stay. We were greeted by the wonderful Emma who made us feel so welcome after an arduous day of travel. Our room was very clean & modern with a comfortable bed & excellent shower. We enjoyed views to the city as well as onto a small garden, 2 of the windows opened a small way to allow for some fresh ventilation or there is air conditioning you can set to your desired temperature. The breakfast buffet is something to behold & we found we didn't need to eat until dinner which saved us alot of money in an expensive city like Oslo. The pool is fantastic, with adult only times if required. The whole hotel is full of modern technology which I should struggle with however I found it very easy to navigate this modern hotel. This is a fantastic hotel & you won't regret choosing it for your stay in Oslo.

The standard room at this price is absolutely small even by European standards. We could not open a large suitcase in this room. Fortunately, we were able to upgrade to a larger room and this is what I would expect around to look like. We had been put in this room by the Viking ocean cruise and if you are on a similar cruise, be sure to call and ask to upgrade or you will be, sorely disappointed in your feelings and in your back over to open a suitcase on the floor

The hotel rooms are very small. They didn’t even give us king bed and said they only have twin beds at this price which was ridiculous. The entire place was short staffed. The worst part was the restaurant- the whole staff there was extremely rude no wonder they have 3.8 rating on google. This hotel is nowhere close to being a 4 star. I would not stay at this again
