Comfort Hotel® Xpress Central Station

Booked this hotel purely on the price/location/value(Basic Double). We were in Oslo for 2 nights flying into Torp. We arrived by train (A different review as it wasn't the best experience). Anyway, you exit the train station, cross over the piazza and the hotel is there! It is a self check in which was easy and into the lift to our room (423). The room is what I would call 'bijou', but a view over the street, a nice long bed, table, chair, tv, good size bathroom, spare quilt, black out curtains, air conditioning, hair dryer, basically everything you need! The location is great! A 2 minute walk to the Opera House and lots of bars, restaurants and a supermarket on the corner. Definitely a winner for location! We went out to the opera house on the first afternoon, walked up on the roof which had great views. We then walked around the waters edge and came to 'SALT', a great outdoor bar with music and definitely has a vibe! Then back to the hotel, where the girl on the bar was chatty and friendly, we got some hot water and milk to use for our own tea bags, not a problem. We had a great nights sleep, the double glazing is amazing, the air conditioning is quite and the bed was super comfy! Again, in the morning, we could have hot water and milk for our own tea. We took the (No. 12 Tram) to Akke Brygga, where we wander around the promenade and took the B1 Ferry (local ferry which is included in your tram ticket) around the islands for an hour and then on to Vigeland Park. Back to the hotel for a short break, then a walk down to see the Munch museum and the bars around there, then back to the hotel. We were going out again, but the hotel bar had a draught IPA on and the other half was impressed, so we sat in the bar for the evening. The bar area is lovely, nice music and the staff are all friendly. A sample of prices, £8.00 for a pint. £7.90 for a red wine. £45 for a bottle of red wine. Crisps, free (probably because we spent nearly £160 at the bar!) Overall, this hotel was great value, in a great location, there are plenty of trams outside to take you all over, the train station is across the road! An amazing pizza place on the corner which does a great caesar salad! (A different reivew). It was quiet and comfortable, which we would definitely recommend!

This hotel must have a variety of different sized rooms (judging from other reviews/photos). I requested a quiet room, which it was, but it was also large with a big walk in shower/toilet. The beds were very comfortable and the temperature of the room easily controlled. There was no view, just the offices opposite but we were only in the room to sleep so it didn’t matter. The self check-in was very easy and we didn’t interact with any staff although the cleaners are doing a great job. We liked the location near the Central Station and other public transport. I can recommend Vippa, a food court near the ferry port for reasonably priced food (closed on Mon & Tue or we would have gone back). We also liked wandering around Mathallen (another food court) but we didn’t eat there. Recommend walking along the side of the Akerselva River. Also Apent Backeri (Tranen or Barcode) for a lovely breakfast. Munch Museum and Fram Museum both worth visiting.

Lovely clean room. Nice,trendy and very warm room. Very comfortable bed. Bar at reception. Friendly and helpful staff. Very central. Close to shopping centre and train station. Lots of lovely retaurants and bars nearby. Great view over city.

Booked the 7th floor rooms! They have great balcony and very nice rooms. We spent several days there in Feb. and March! Great location near train station and great pedestrian street thru the heart of Oslo. Bounce Baggage storage right around the corner from and make reservations to eat at Pinco I think I remember the name, right next to hotel. Great Mexican style foods! We had seen it full up for many the night,, finally made reservations. Food is great, Weard system as you order food on phone app and pick up your own food. Worth the hassle as it is good food!

Comfy hotel. We initially went to the hotel right next to the station (Comfort hotel central station). However, this was not the right one. We had to go across the square and down a street to find the right place. Once we got there, it was lovely. Room was large and quiet. Well equipped bathroom. No tea/coffee in the room. This would have been nice after a long train journey. Hotel is in a great location and we started our days sightseeing from here with no problems. Staff were friendly and you can buy breakfast from the fridge at the barception but it is pricey and limited. We found breakfast elsewhere.
